Translation in Real Time
|
Real-time translation is aimed at companies
that need certain content translated REGULARLY AND CONTINUOUSLY with minimum
turnaround times (from 60 to 100 minutes),
such as press agencies, publishing houses, newspapers or information service
providers on the internet
This is a very demanding service in which
the quantities and turnaround times must be defined exactly and predetermined
for a period of at least one year.

Translation in Real Time: All day, every day?
Yes. Translation in real time is only possible with a team of translators working CONSTANTLY
AND EXCLUSIVELY on one project—it is the only way to translate «instantly».
What are the turnaround times when we talk about «Real Time»?
We can complete the process of translation, proofreading and editing a document at 250
to 300 words per person per hour, every day. Our goal is to deliver maximum quality
in a minimum amount of time-CONSTANTLY.
How do you guarantee quality when working in real time?
By always applying our Formula for Quality, which includes a project manager and the
best translation assistance tools. We work according to the FIFO model ("First
In, First Out"), and documents are always translated, proofread and edited by a
team. For more about our translation methods, please see Quality
in translation.
What volume can be translated in an hour? In a day?
Around 250 to 300 words per person per hour, which means about
2000 to 2500 words per person per day, EVERY DAY.
Two thousand to 300-word documents can be translated, proofread edited and delivered
to the client in eight hours. Remember that these jobs are carried out by a team-not
a single person.
Why do the volumes have to be predetermined?
Because turnaround times are so short that they don't allow for changes or restructuring
of the translation team assigned to the project. The real-time translation capacity
that you contract is fixed and measured in thousands of words per day, or by the hour.
What types of documents can be translated in real time?
Mainly short or small documents of just
a few pages.
Of course, if the same types of documents are translated frequently, this will mean
shorter learning curves and faster turnaround times.
Can a lengthy document be translated in real time?
No. Individual documents take a certain amount of time to translate, and the translation
of a lengthy document is a complex process that can take days or weeks. Translations
done in real time or "instantly" are appropriate and used for short or very
short documents.
