Quality in Translation

Our keys to Quality in Translation:

  • a team of Native Language Professionals who live and work in the country where the target language is spoken.
  • strict quality management every step of the way, using our Formula for Quality Management:

What Quality in Translation Means...

  • For your clients: Clients will associate your business with the quality of your translations. Period. Careless work sends a negative message to clients and will undermine--or end--your relations with them.
  • For your work: Cutting corners in the translation process means compromising the accuracy and professionalism of your work.
  • For YOU: There is no room for doubts about the quality of your translations: Providing clients--AND employees--with quality, accurate, and up-to-date information is not only your responsibility: it is key to the success of your business.Arriba

What is Quality's worst enemy?
A ONE-PERSON-CAN-DO-IT-ALL attitude. It's difficult if not impossible for one person to translate and edit her own work and remain objective. So we've chosen a team of language experts that effectively implements Orchestra.es' Formula for Quality Management.

Why is a Formula for Quality Management necessary?
Translation can be highly subjective work in which it is all too easy to make mistakes and misinterpret ideas. So we've developed this Formula to provide experienced, in-country translators, proofreaders and editors whose combined efforts = flawless translations every time. Arriba

How our Formula for Quality Management works:

QUALITY = TRANSLATION + PROOFREADING +EDITING

  • Translation. A group of translators who are specialists in the subject area translate the document using the required terminology, glossaries and style guides.
  • Proof-reading. Qualified language specialists carefully proofread your document to make sure it contains the correct terminology and follows the appropriate style.
  • Editing. The editor, who is also an expert in the subject area, has 2 major responsiblities: 1. To analize the document and establish the most appropriate terminology and style to use. 2. To ensure that the message the translated text conveys is true to that of the original before giving it final approval.
Does Orchestra.es use its Formula for Quality Management for all languages it works in?
We use our Formula for Quality Management in translations from English, French, German, Portuguese and Italian into Spanish, as these are the languages in which we specialize. For more information, please click Our Services. Arriba

Does a Formula for Quality Managment alone guarantee flawless translations?
Not quite. The people who are part of this Formula must have solid experience as
in-country translators: For example, a professional living in Mexico will translate a document whose target audience is Mexico. For more on why we do this, click The Natural Choice.

Do you translate a document the same way for different clients?
No. Each translation will be different based on the type of language it contains: technical, financial, etc., and the internal style guides a client wants us to follow. A Project Manager will talk with the client about the proper language and style to use to ensure a completely accurate translation. Arriba

    Does Orchestra use software-generated translations?
Not right now. We find the use of automatic translation programs to be limited as they produce translations which, though generally true to the original text, are still well below standard. However, we do use translation memory systems where appropriate to ensure translation consistency. Arriba
